Boordiya Builders is a new company, born from TK Constructions NT, a small commercial construction company that experienced significant growth since it commenced trading in 2013. TKCNT worked very closely with community organisations such as Saltbush and Karen Sheldon Group, to ensure TKCNT always maintained at least a 40% Indigenous workforce.
Building Excellence Through Leadership
TKCNT teamed up with our most loyal and long-term staff to bring Boordiya Builders to the construction scene in Darwin. Jayden Kickett, the first employee and apprentice of TK Constructions was the best possible choice for the position of Managing Director to embark on this future business endeavour. While with our team, he became a qualified carpenter, a leading supervisor, as well as our on-site Indigenous recruitment and training mentor and advisor.
Boordiya is named and majority owned by Jayden Kickett. In the Noongar language, Boordiya means ‘boss’ or ‘leader’ and we know Boordiya will fulfill its namesake in construction. We hope this company will continue and improve upon its predecessor's legacy, becoming true leaders in construction, while providing exemplary teaching and mentoring models that will continuously upskill Aboriginal people in construction.

Although Boordiya is new to Darwin, we have a strong 51% Indigenous Board of Directors and the potential to become the best Indigenous construction Company in the NT, as this crew has been working together seamlessly for 5 years.
Our Mission
Boordiya Builders is itself born of a passion for construction, as well as improving employment outcomes for Indigenous Australians. We want to be the first Indigenous building company contractors think of when they need the job done well and by local people. We have talented First Nations people doing all the skilled work, while teaching and mentoring others to do the same.
